Applications

Where NCWY bearings run.

Deep groove ball bearings do most of their work out of sight. The sections below show where NCWY bearings are used and which catalogue models to start with. All 35 models fall between 3 and 20 mm bore. Selection depends on load, speed, fit, temperature, grease and noise target, so read these as starting points and send us the drawing or working conditions for a recommendation. If an application touches two of these groups, work from the highest speed and temperature in the duty cycle, not the average.

Household appliances

Washing machines, range hoods and air conditioners are classic 62-series work. Start with 6201, 6202 or 6203; the appliance motor decides whether ZV2 is enough or a tighter noise grade is needed, and sealed versions are usual where water and detergent are present. The same model can be supplied with different noise, clearance and sealing combinations, so name them on the drawing or in the technical agreement.

Typical models

Electric motors and fans

6001, 6002 and 6004 cover most small motor sizes in the range. For a motor built around a special shaft, 6203/8 puts an 8 mm bore on the standard 40 mm outside diameter. Fan and blower motors run for long hours, so the noise grade and grease should be agreed with the motor maker, ideally on a sample before the grade is fixed in the drawing.

Typical models

High-speed spindles

Angular contact ball bearings in P4, P5 and P6 precision classes are used in high-speed spindles, where combined axial and radial loads have to be carried at speed. These are not part of the 35-model deep groove catalogue: tell us the spindle speed, preload, lubrication and fits, and we quote from the drawing.

Typical models

Pumps and fluid handling

Pumps in this size class draw on both the 62 and 63 series. Common starting points are 6302, 635 and 628. The seal is the first decision: 2RS where the pump environment is wet or dusty, ZZ where the bearing runs in clean grease and lower friction matters. If the shaft sees axial load or slight misalignment, describe the duty and we will check the structure before you commit to a size.

Typical models

Power tools

Power tools want small, stiff bearings that survive vibration. 6000, 6002 and 627 are the sizes we see most often; where the spindle carries a heavier load, the 63 series is the higher-load choice. Test samples under the way the tool actually starts and stops, not only at steady speed.

Typical models

Automotive and motorcycle

6203, 629 and 636 are used in the automotive and motorcycle assemblies covered by the 62 and 63 series. Here the drawing and the test standard matter more than the catalogue number; confirm clearance and grease against the assembly specification. For production supply, agree the sample and the drawing first, with material and heat-treatment requirements written on the drawing.

Typical models

Office and fitness equipment

Office equipment and fitness machines need quiet, low-torque running. 6800, 683 and 6900 are the miniature sizes we supply for these products. Shock load amplifies the effect of clearance and cage choice, so describe the duty rather than selecting by size alone.

Typical models

Textile and agricultural machinery

For agricultural machinery and light textile equipment, start with 624 from the 62 series and 633/634 from the 63 series. These compact sizes suit small mechanisms, and dust, vibration and uneven load matter more than speed; sealing and clearance should be specified with the machine builder.

HVAC and ventilation

Air-conditioning and ventilation units use 629, 6200 and 16101. The demand here is steady running over long hours rather than high load, so choose the noise grade and grease for the fan motor and use shielded bearings where the airflow is clean. Noise and temperature rise are worth confirming on a sample before the model is fixed.

Typical models

Every industry below maps to standard catalogue models. Send the operating conditions for a specific recommendation.

Selection support

Send the operating conditions, not just the model.

Speed, load, temperature, fit and noise target decide the closure, clearance and grease. Send them with the drawing and we will recommend a configuration.

  • Shaft and housing fits
  • Operating speed and load
  • Noise and vibration target
  • Ambient and grease temperature
